Lowell Manufacturing Intros Surge Protectors, Vari-Rack System
image
Lowell Manufacturing is adding the compAC surge protectors to its line of surge protection solutions.

The company says the thin-profile protectors come in 20- and 15-amp units to protect multiple devices on a single circuit.

The compAC surge protectors offer several choices of amperage and installation applications.

Multi-plane brackets help expand amperage and allow for easier installation behind flat-panel TVs, under counters and on shelves.

Each model comes with remote power control or auto-reset/under voltage protection and Lowell's TCR surge suppression

Lowell, which recently held a 3-day training session for its CEDIA representatives, is also introducing two models of its variable depth Vari-Rack system: the LVR2028 and LVR1421.

The LVR2028 is designed for depth adjustment from 20 to 28 inches, while the LVR1421 adjusts from 14 inches to 21 inches.

Both models support 400 pounds and feature 11 gauge corner-post mounting rails tapped 10-32 with…

Tripp Lite Backup Power Block is Perfect for Structured Wiring Cans
image
Tripp Lite has developed what has to be a no-brainer for anyone that installs structured wiring systems. The AV550SC Backup Power Block, which sits in the left-hand corner of a cabinet (or can be wall-mounted), provides surge protection for telephone, Internet and coax connections.

But that's just the beginning. Most makers of structured wiring systems offer some kind of surge protection for their boxes. But Tripp Lite also provides power backup and intelligent power cycling for a router and modem.

"There's nothing that fits in a structured wiring box today," says Tripp Lite's Jim Folk. "Ours not only fits in, but it has backup power."

The 550VA battery backup on the product is fairly modest, but "85 percent of power outages are less than 15 seconds," Folk says. "Power can go in an out all day long."

When power does go out, the system powers up the modem first, and then kicks in the router one minute…

Panamax Releases PM Family of Power Management Products
PRESS RELEASE

PETALUMA, Calif. — Aug. 28, 2007 — Panamax/Furman, a world-leading provider of AC power management solutions, today announced the release of four new MAX power management products designed to improve the audio and video quality of home theater components. The M4300-PM, M5100-PM, M5300-PM, and M5400-PM offer advanced linear filtration for noise reduction and patent-pending circuitry to protect components from damaging power irregularities.

The M4300-PM power conditioner offers Level 2 power cleaning and Linear Filtration Technology (LiFT) to eliminate common symptoms of AC line noise, allowing equipment to perform at full capability for an optimal home theater experience. Additionally, noise isolation between the two isolated outlet banks prevents any noise created by a component plugged into one bank from contaminating the power to equipment plugged into the other outlet bank.

For increased protection against AC noise, the M5100-PM offers Level 3 power cleaning and LiFT for a 60 percent increase in noise-eliminating efficiency over Level 2. The M5300-PM offers Level…

Richard Gray’s Ultimate Home Theater Backup Machine - Don’t Miss a Touchdown
image
The problem with gas generators is they take too long to come on after a power outage, and they're awfully loud. The trouble with uninterruptible power supplies is that they can't power an entire house.

Richard Gray's Power Company has a solution for this power-supply gap. The PowerVault combines an online battery back-up with the benefits of the company's 1200C power delivery system, providing the "ultimate answer for a truly uninterrupted home theater experience," as the company literature says.

The system has 92 amps of capacity so it can power an entire home theater system--lighting, amps, projectors, the works--with no down time.

Training on PowerVault

Get trained on PowerVault on Wednesday or Saturday. Classes are filling up fast.

"If you're watching the SuperBowl and you were smart enough to buy a generator, it has to wake up. That's about three minutes," says RGPC founder Richard Gray. "Then all the gear has to reboot. By that…

Richard Gray’s Power Co. Intros Accessories that Solve Real-Life Installer Problems
image
Press Release

Denver, CO – CEDIA Expo 2007 – September 4-9, 2007 – Booth #208 – Richard Gray’s Power Company, LLC (RGPC) will show numerous accessories that go the extra mile in resolving installation challenges for CEDIA professionals:

• The TV Guard by RGPC is the finest coax protector available on the market today. It responds at lightning speed (less than 100 nanoseconds) to protect sensitive gear from surges over coax lines. What’s more, it does so with an extremely low insertion loss, so more of the signal actually makes it to the TV—and more signal strength means a better picture. TV Guard is compatible with HD and digital cable as well as satellite and cable modems.

• Designed to work in conjunction with RGPC’s Patented Parallel Power Delivery units, the RGPC Powerlink enables easy runs of power circuits to remotely-located equipment in a home theater, such as wall-hanging plasmas, ceiling-mounted projectors and even subwoofers. With the Powerlink in place, installers…
