D-Tools Releases System Integrator Software 5.5
image
D-Tools is releasing its latest version of its System Integrator Software — SI5.5.

The upgrade includes an emphasis on project management and is a reflection of input from its dealers, according to Tim Bigoness, vice president of marketing.

"They were telling us, 'We need more powerful management tools.'"

SI 5.5, which is being demonstrated here at CEDIA Expo 2008 at booth 209, enables integrators to create detailed projects.

These include: automated proposals, scheduling, pick lists, purchase orders, drawings and additional documents that aid the integration process.

Bigoness says the SI5.5 comes at a time when dealers need it most, alluding to the slow construction market and down economy.

"It's more important then ever for these guys to understand profit per project," he says.

New features in SI5.5 include:
  • Tools and functionality geared towards better management of system integrations
  • Improved scheduling tools for both work and…

Moondog Digital and Double Century Software Merge
image
Moondog Digital and Double Century Software have merged to provide both media conversion software and services under one company.

"The growth of each individual organization will now combine to create new cross-market synergies," says Craig Kelker, president of Moondog Digital.

"Running each group individually since 2004 allowed for each group to serve different markets. As each company expanded services and offerings, the lines started to blur."

Double Century's hands-free CD ripping and DVD processing product, RoboStation, will be rebranded under the Moondog Digital name. New partnerships with companies like Crestron Electronics, Kaleidescape, and Russound have fallen under the Moondog Digital brand.

The merger of back office systems, long-standing partnerships, and other collateral will continue throughout calendar year 2008.

"As the media conversion industry has matured, we want to leverage the expertise and abilities of both our technical staff and our seasoned conversion processes and programs," says Kelker. "This merger is another step…
