Crowson DDP-4 Controls Tactile Motion Signals via RS-232

Crowson Technology is releasing its DDP-4 Digital Distribution Preamplifier, which distributes and controls Tactile Motion signals.
The DDP-4, which will be displayed at CEDIA Expo 2008 at booth 899, controls signals for up to four separate zones via two-way RS-232.
It also features six inputs, 16 outputs and the ability to mix both sound and motion signals.
Crowson Technology is best known for its Linear Actuator, the TES 100, which allows enthusiasts to integrate Tactile Motion into their movie experiences.
The new DDP-4 complements this technology by allowing users to remotely control and personalize the intensity of each chair, row or zone. It also gives users the ability to adjust seats individually.
Crowson says it's the first tactile motion control to offer integration with all major home theater control and automation systems.

Wi-Ex: ‘Make Your Signals Significant’

Wi-Ex (Booth No. 120) is at the CEDIA Expo this year to show off its zBoost product, a cell phone signal booster.
According to Wi-Ex president Lloyd Meese, consumers complain a great deal about the challenge of getting and keeping a strong indoor cell phone signal.
"We wanted to provide installers with a simple and effective way to address this problem," he says.
The zBoost CEDIA/Installer Kit includes "everything an installer needs to help their customers," Wi-Ex claims. It comes with the zBoost ProPack as well as marketing, presentation and training materials.
Designed for demanding professional coverage applications, it increases coverage up to 10,000 square feet. The zBoost ProPack series uses a bidirectional amplifier system that captures and amplifies both 800 MHz and 1,900 MHz bands simultaneously.
The standard kit retails for $395. The Premium kit (which includes three zBoost ProPacks) retails for $999.
