Features

The Cinema Retro SUB 10-250 features a 4” diameter inverted voice coil. The main advantage of inverting the voice coil is to create a much larger surface area which to wind the coil upon. Increasing the size of the coil provides both gains in efficiency and stability during strong bass passages. The Cinema Retro SUB 10-250 also features a 10” woofer with dual central mount spiders. These spiders maximize the movement of the laminated carbon fiber honeycomb woofer. The Cinema Retro SUB 10-250 has an integrated enclosure made from ¾” MDF. The enclosures density and rigidity prevents sound leakage from the woofers rear, minimizing sound intrusion into an adjoining room. In addition, the MDF is non reasonant, which minimizes the sonic colorations that can rob film soundtracks of clarity and impact.

The Cinema Retro SUB 10-250 was designed to provide installers with a small profile subwoofer option with deep frequency response while being mounted completely inside a wall or ceiling. With overall dimensions of only 15”W x 15”H x 3-7/8”D, the Cinema Retro SUB 10-250 is perfect for those installations that do not have the room for a larger in-wall subwoofer. The Sonance Cinema Series have been specifically designed so that the installer can mix and match any of the in-wall or in-ceiling speakers with the subwoofers in any configuration and still achieve the ultimate in home theater performance.
