The CI820 is a two-way coaxial, ported speaker with an integrated metal backcan that delivers true high performance audio along with easy installation. It incorporates an 8-inch polypropylene woofer with butyl rubber surround and a 1-inch silk dome tweeter; a tuned port on the baffle provides foot tapping musicality with superior bass response. The speaker’s frequency response is 55 Hz – 22 kHz. The CI820’s BroadBeam Ring™ technology, a Phase Technology exclusive, provides extended mid- and high-frequency coverage that ensures clear, smooth response even when listening far off-axis. The result is superior sounding music no matter where listeners are located in relation to the speaker. The CI820 is a dream for installers. Mounting hardware is included and features a rapid two-screw installation system using SpeedWing™ technology Multiple speakers can be used on the same amp channel without the need for impedance matching devices. With an input impedance of 16 ohms, eight speakers may be operated in stereo or four speakers may be run in mono and still present a 4 ohm load to the amp.. Two additional speakers are available in this series, the 5” CI520 and the 6” CI620. All three speakers will be UL-listed within the next year.

This allows superior room coverage without tying up lots of speaker zones. 3. Rapid installation using our exclusive SpeedWing™ installation system. A quick turn of two screws will securely mount the speaker in the ceiling.

Integrators will love the installation features of the CI820. First, it is Phase Technology’s first UL-listed in-ceiling speaker (UL is planned for all speakers in this series). The integrated backcan keeps the installer from having to worry about back boxes or custom enclosures. SpeedWing™ installation is fast and trouble-free. If desired, a tile bridge is available at no additional charge. The CI820’s ceramic terminal strip meets EU fire code requirements and accepts up to 8 gauge wire; it also offers input impedance of 16 ohms (transformer connection is also possible, up to 64 watts).
