Zip Express Teams with Shopko for Installs of CE, PC and Furniture
Shopko, a $2 billion Midwest retailer with 136 stores, will use Zip Express to install/assemble customers' A/V , home networks and furniture.
Zip Express Installation has scored another win for its home entertainment and networking installation business.
The company has partnered with Shopko, a $2 billion regional retailer of everything from pharmaceuticals to optical services to home entertainment gear.
Shopko, headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., has 136 stores in 13 states throughout the Midwest, Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions.
With the deal, Zip strengthens its furniture assembly and regular old "white glove" delivery offerings in its roster of services. Furniture assembly starts at $130.
Shopko customers can order Zip service at the check-out.
Zip, which has a network of 16,000 installers, has partnered with countless retailers including Amazon.com, Office Depot , TigerDirect, CompUSA, Circuit City, Target.com and BJ's Wholesale.
The Shopko announcement comes on the heels of a big win for competitor NEW, which is providing installs for Walmart.
Another six or so organizations are offering similar installation services via a network of independent installers, and some home systems integration firms are signing up to fill idle work time.

Zip Installation is a joke. We have been in communication with them now since Thanksgiving on installing our 63 inch television. The first installer caved our wall in trying to do the install and we paid $449.00 for installation and $89.99 for delivery. This has been an absolute nightmare. We have been promised by the manager Rose as well as John Oberman (I believe was his last name) that we will be taken care of and we are still not getting what we paid for. WE have paid an additional $600.00 for another t.v because the installer guy (who brought his girlfriend with) broke the one we initially bought at CompUSA. WE have paid $500.00 for the wall to be repaired and we still have over $3500.00 wotj of electronic equipment sitting on our basement floor. After this week, we will definitely be talking to the Better Business Bureau about Zip and their unprofessioanlism.
DO NOT USE ZIP!!
Frustrated for the holidays!
