We’re Hosting Justin Bieber at CES 2012!
Which came first: Bieber or Tosy?
Bieber is the guest of Tosy Robotics, maker of gigantic robots, service robots, industrial robots and (Bieber’s favorite, I hear) high-tech toys.
Vietnam-based Tosy is in the CES Robotics Tech Zone run by no other than EH Publishing (that’s us). Bieber will appear at the Tosy booth (21964), Wed., Jan. 11 from 1-3pm, just an aisle away from CE Pro and the rest of the EH Publishing family.
The news was announced in our sister publication RoboNexus, the consumer site for robot lovers.
It is unclear if Bieber will sing or do the robot or both.
And before you ask … no, I can’t get you an autograph. At least from Justin B. I can probably get something from Tosy, though. (I can see the T-shirt now: I saw Justin Bieber at CES and all I got was this lousy picture with Tosy the robot.)

Justin Bieber at Tosy Robotics, Wed., Jan. 11 1-3pm. While you're there pick up your copy of CE Pro magazine

WTF? Really? Wow. CES is turning into the Super Bowl. :( Why Beiber? Were the Peas booked already?
Is the target market now 13 year old girls at CES? I dont see how this choice is a draw for CES.
Andy, LOL, the Black Eyed Peas, in the top 5 worst bands EVER. Point taken.
And this is the part where we say ... well, it’s not really EH Publishing bringing Bieber to CES (our budget MIGHT accommodate Rebecca Black if we were lucky). But if he brings some crowds to our booths and our partners at CEPro@CES, then we’ll take him!
Julie- may all your wildest fantasies come true!
Chris, Andy, and Tuck - CES has been about the masses for years. Who’s more mass appeal than Bieber? Julie’s right. This is great exposure. Spike is broadcasting live coverage of the show. We all gotta start thinking outside the box. (I know, bad cliche.) How many video game rooms have we built because 13-yr-old boys held sway over their parents? Here’s hoping that our industry can come up with expensive technology requiring custom installation that every 13-yr-old girl has to have and that Justin Bieber endorses!
@Rob is exactly right. It’s all about the media coverage vs. the actual attendee for Tosy Robotics (and many other vendors too). Bieber will end up all over the CES television media coverage. Our staff who puts together this Robotics TechZone is already working with CES on plans to handle a huge crush of media at the booth. Mission accomplished for Tosy (unless Bieber calls in sick.)

I’d rather have your autograph, Julie lol
