Not sure how you can call hard button remotes a miss. While I agree they shouldn’t have too many buttons, but for primary TV watching I think all my clients have always preferred a hard button remote, especially after trying with a touch screen for a while. They want a hard number pad to type channel numbers into, guide, list, channel +/-, volume +/-, mute, previous channel, etc. to all be easily accessible in the dark without looking down to figure out where to press. Now for whole home control (thermostats, lights, security, etc.) I agree a touchscreen is best. But I don’t think hard button remotes are going anywhere.
