Russound’s Walt Zerbe Receives CEA TechHome Leadership Award
Walt Zerbe (left) receives 2012 CEA TechHome Leadership Award from TechHome chairman Ian Hendler during CES 2012.
Zerbe has been involved in the custom electronics and pro A/V business for 25 years -- more if you count his years of tinkering before starting a home systems integration firm.
Currently, he is a product manager for multiroom A/V manufacturer Russound, where he has worked for five years following a seven-year stint at On-Q/Legrand.
Zerbe has been a tireless volunteer for more than a decade, serving on CEA'sTechHome board and taking an active role in audio standards development. In 2009, CEA honored Zerbe with its Technology Achievement Award for the creation of the Multiroom Audio Standard (ANSI/CEA-2030).
Currently he is co-chair of the CEA Home Audio Division and chairman of the joint CEA/CEDIA R10 standards group.
Why does he do it? Zerbe tells CE Pro, "I enjoy it. It's fun."
For the first time this year, CEA included the Mark of Excellence System Integrator Awards as part of the International CES. The awards program recognizes the best in custom installation projects and installed technology.

Well done, Walt! VERY well deserved. Here’s to another 25 years, and then some.
Richard, you have no idea how well respected and well liked (even more important) Walt is in our little industry. The honor is truly deserved.

Congratulations Walt! You even made sideburns fashionable in the industry for a short while.
