Rose Anne Johnson: Excellence Personified

Rose Anne worked behind the scenes for her customers. What she said would be done, Would-Be-Done. Sounds simple, but we know how rare that is in business.

On August 31, our community lost a treasure in the passing of Rose Anne Johnson.

If you ever had the opportunity to have Rose Anne’s help with a theater seating, interior or acoustical project, I believe that you too hold her in very high regard.

Rose Anne began working in the CEDIA channel with First Impressions while living in Miami, Fla., and I was fortunate enough to have her assistance on a project in 1998 and knew in short order that as a customer, I was in good hands.

Rose Anne worked behind the scenes for her customers. What she said would be done, Would-Be-Done. Sounds simple, but we know how rare that is in business.

I love these kinds of people -- names that sometimes do not have faces to us, but are more important to our business and even our well-being because they live to serve others, serving in the background and as a foundation for real relationship building where the work is a just a byproduct. My kind of people these are, and Rose Anne was a model to me of such servant-hood in my own work.

Rose Anne and her husband Bill Johnson have raised an amazing boy named Taylor.

Before Taylor was two, concerns about the onset of autism arose. Immediately, Bill and Rose Anne went into action and became experts in all ways that could help Taylor escape the grip of this mysterious condition.

For over a year, Rose Anne and Taylor traveled some thousand miles per week to attend treatments and by age 3, Taylor emerged from the woods of autism. My wife Heather and I were the sole attendees at Bill and Rose Anne’s wedding in Cabo San Lucas and through our friendship, we kept abreast of their journey with Taylor.

Taylor is now 7 and he is learning, growing, singing and playing as a strong and brilliant seven-year-old should. Rose Anne worked tirelessly and selflessly for her son and has never taken credit for any part of Taylor’s walk away from autism.

God holds this child in His right hand and Taylor is destined for greatness, I am glad to know him. Rose Anne, motivator, instigator, humble servant, great friend, amazing mother and wife. Her passing is one that does not seem realistic to me and I know that she was a treasure to all that knew her.

My condolences. In remembrance, CEDIA held a moment of silence to open the Electronic Lifestyles Awards reception last Saturday night.
