Paradise Theater Earns Harman Audio Calibration Masters Certificate
Well-known industry educator Sam Cavitt and his Paradise Theater team are fourth company to earn audio calibration certification for Harman brands JBL Synthesis, Revel, Lexicon and Mark Levinson.
Well-known industry educator, calibrator and system designer Sam Cavitt and his team at Paradise Theater have completed the Masters level certification from Harman International to calibrate high-performance audio systems using ARCOS (Adaptive Room Correction and Optimization System).
Paradise Theater is just the fourth company to achieve the Masters certification for audio systems that include the JBL Synthesis, Mark Levinson, Revel and Lexicon brands. ARCOS is an integrated software and hardware package that provides a new level of calibration accuracy for high performance audio systems.
Paradise Theater adds ARCOS calibration to its offering of high-performance theater design and acoustical consulting services. Calibration services will be available to system integrators and owners of high-performance systems around the world. With every completed calibration, Paradise Theater will provide a report providing specific details and commentary on the results of the calibration, providing insight into how the system’s performance was improved.
“The ARCOS system represents many years of extensive research and blind listening tests as well as solid science. After experiencing these calibrations by the Harman team on past Paradise Theaters we recognized the level of value we could provide by becoming Master ARCOS calibrators. We have often compared a Paradise Theater to a finely designed and crafted high performance vehicle; we now provide the “ultimate tune-up” to attain profound listening experiences," says Cavitt, president of Paradise Theater.
Paradise Theater offers integrators the opportunity to achieve both Platinum and Gold level room certifications from Harman by leveraging the company's suite of theater design services along with its Masters-level ARCOS calibration. Harman International offers a platinum level certification only available to those rooms that are both designed and calibrated by a master level certified acoustic and calibrator. A Gold level certification is only available to those rooms which are calibrated by a master certified calibrator.
"We congratulate Paradise Theater on their successful completion of the Masters Certification Program. Engaging in our comprehensive training reaffirms Sam and his team's commitment to offering systems integrators and their clients with the highest level of service and support in design and acoustical services," says Jim Garrett, director, marketing and product development for Harman Luxury Audio and Loudspeakers.

Among audio people Bose is a bit of a joke. They are over pirced for what they are but not expensive compared to truly good products. You can certainly get a lot better than Bose but in my opinion most of the mass market stuff in a similar price range with Bose isn’t very good either. Still you would be better off with most any other product, Bose is certainly among the lowest quality overall. If you spend maybe $300 ~ $400 on a cheap receiver like Onkyo, Pioneer, or Denon then maybe get some small speakers like the Monitor Audio Radius R90HD and some sort of subwoofer then this will have similar advantages to Bose like small size but should sound quite a bit better. It’s really not easy to make a great sounding system that is as compact as Bose. There are physical limitations that prevent it. So it depends on what you want. If you want tiny little speakers that don’t draw attention to themselves visually then I think you will like the Radius R90. If you want sound quality and don’t care about the physical size then you need something bigger and you need to spend more than the price of the Bose.
