05.29.2009 — Panamax has introduced the MX5102, its first product to combine power management, surge protection and battery back-up.

The unit, designed for home theaters, protects equipment in case of undervoltage or overvoltage. The MX5102 also powers down equipment correctly during a power failure.

Targeting residential installs with limited space, the MX5102 offers linear filtration, surge protection and UPS functionality in two of its 10 outlets. The MX5102 is available as a standalone or rackmount solution.

Other features:
  • Prevents equipment from losing setup configuration and stored data during power outage
  • Avoids hard-disk crashes during outages
  • Allows projection bulbs to cool down "properly" before shutting off
  • RS232 serial communication
  • Two battery-powered outlets that continue to work during power failures
The front panel of the MX5102 offers intuitive navigation and LCD status display to monitor incoming voltage and battery time.

The MX5102, which comes with cables and a rack mounting kit, is now available. MSRP: $649.95
