On-Q, Vantage Restructure Again; Name Dave Hanchette VP of Marketing
Following his abrupt departure from Russound, Hanchette will rejoin On-Q/Legrand. He first joined On-Q in 2003 as VP of business development.
David Hanchette has been named VP of marketing and product management for On-Q/Legrand and Vantage.
Dave Hanchette, the guy responsible for putting the dash back into the On-Q logo, is bringing his marketing prowess back to the company as VP of marketing and product management for On-Q/Legrand and Vantage, its sister company.
On-Q, maker of structured wiring and communications systems, has been inching ever closer to Vantage since Legrand N.A. acquired the latter in 2006.
Vantage makes high-end lighting and automation systems, and has been the keeper of the UStec structured wiring brand since Legrand bought that property in 2007.
Legrand launched a Home Systems Division earlier this year to formalize the relationship between On-Q and Vantage. Doug Fikse, founder and CEO of On-Q, leads that new group.
Legrand brought the two brands even closer together just last week, declaring that the two companies – On-Q in Harrisburg, Penn., and Vantage in Orem, Utah – would "combine the back office functions," while maintaining their respective brands.
Hanchette will lead the marketing and product management for the combined group.
In an interview with CE Pro, the new VP said little about the Home Systems group except that "you'll see some operational shared activity."
He and Vantage VP of marketing Andrew Wales will "kind of be joined at hip," Hanchette says. They will share responsibilities in marketing, dealer training, product development, sales and more — for both On-Q and Vantage.
Long-time VP of sales Bob Long, meanwhile, has left Vantage. Ron Wilson, company co-founder and former president of the company, has taken on the newly established role of chief technology officer.
Hanchette joined On-Q in 2003 as VP of business development, and left the company in 2006 to join EH Publishing (that's us).
He left EH to join Russound in March of this year as VP of marketing, and then left there in October, saying the commute from his home in North Carolina to Russound headquarters in Newmarket, N.H. was "taking a toll" on his family.
Charlie Porritt was recently named CEO of Russound.

Whats the matter Dave, can’t keep a job?

So commuting from North Carolina to Pennsylvania is better?

Hey, Dave—Did Fikse take a look at you before he rehired you? He might have reconsidered.
