Olive One All-in-One Music Player Launches via Crowdfunding
Olive’s One Music Player can play your favorite YouTube videos.
“So why are we asking for your help?” asks the Indiegogo page. “The answer is simple: We believe the idea behind Olive One is big - too big for our existing audiophile channel.”
The Olive One, which some are already saying will be a Sonos competitor, is a circular touchscreen that can provide access to all of your client’s digital music. It can tap into everything on a smartphone, a computer and even the cloud. Promising audiophile-quality sound, the device also has an open architecture and a customizable design with fine aluminum and glass materials.
Olive says the device can also navigate and play music back on HDTVs, using WiFi Miracast. No docking is needed. Instead, the Olive One connects to all of the components via Bluetooth 4.0.
Other features include the option to link multiple One screens and control via free iPhone, iPad and Android apps.
Olive currently has 53 days to make its $200,000 goal. To secure the Olive One, you must pledge $399 - and wait until July 2013, which is when the company expects to ship the product. At last peek, the company was offering $50 off the Olive One or 50 percent off a $50 or $100 gift card. However, that offer will expire Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at midnight (PST).
