NuVo Twiddles Thumbs at ISE 2013: Wireless So Easy to Set Up
One Concerto multiroom audio system and two NuVo Wireless Music Systems take the crew just four hours to set up at ISE 2013.
This year, however, two of those systems were built around the company’s new wireless audio system. The set-up crew knew the booth would be easier than usual to set up, but had no idea just how easy.
“We were finished at 3:00,” says marketing manager Desiree Webster. “Literally, it took us four hours to set up.”
NuVo showcased a fully decked-out Concerto system and two complete wireless systems. The wireless systems were fed content from their built-in music services and a USB stick, and controlled via wireless tablets.
The Concerto had a full-fledged Music Port server, AM/FM tuner, touchpads and in-wall speakers.
For the wireless system, “We plugged in the power, connected the Cat 5, connected the speaker wire, plugged in a USB stick with music,” says Webster. “The whole system was up and running.”
NuVo was acquired last year by Legrand, meaning the company is no longer affiliated with former owner Hanser Music Group, maker of B.C. Rich Guitars. Even so, per tradition, NuVo gave away three guitars at ISE 2013.
You might get a richer multiroom audio experience with NuVo Grand Concerto, but it takes a heck of a lot longer to install than the Wireless Music System.
