Newcomer OSD Audio: ‘Ultra-Reference’ In-Wall Speakers for Under $200
Company execs call themselves audiophiles; 6.5-inch and 8-inch speakers feature Kevlar woofers, pivoting tweeter.
Does the world really need another in-wall speaker manufacturer?
Newcomer OSD Audio thinks so. The manufacturer says its new Spitfire MK650 and MK850 in-ceiling "ultra-reference" speakers "deliver a new level of performance and offer features typically found in speakers priced hundreds of dollars more."
The MK650 (6.5-inch) and MK850 (8-inch) retail for $150 and $200, respectively.
Both models have front-mounted contour switches that allow users to tailor frequency response to their room arrangement. And they feature a Kevlar woofer and one-inch pivoting aluminum dome tweeter that can be aimed toward the listening area.
They also have front-mounted contour switches that allow users to tailor frequency response to their room arrangement, compensating for hard and soft surfaces like wood floors, stone floor and carpet.
OSD founder Dave Chai says, “We’re all audiophiles at OSD and everyone wants to be in the sweet spot. It was really important to us that we design in-ceiling speakers with even sound dispersion so that you’re in the sweet spot no matter where you sit."
The speakers come with mounting templates and a 10-year warranty.

What a great company to deal with! I ordered outdoor speakers Wednesday late afternoon and they arrived the next day beffore COB! I was very pleased and can recommend this web order service.
I lost confidence after dealing recently with a major Pool retailer begining with ‘L’ who let me down with a promise on a web purchase.
Thanks OSD!
