NAD CD Player Engineered for Accurate Sound Reproduction

The electronics manufacturer NAD offers a diverse selection of amplifiers, tuners, A/V receivers, turntables, Blu-ray players and recently the company added to its selection of CD players when it introduced the reasonably priced C 516BEE CD player.

NAD’s new C 516BEE CD player offers a choice of analog and digital outputs and it carries an MSRP of $299.

Over the past few years the consumer audio industry has seen the digital download and vinyl formats experience exponential growth, but despite these formats’ increased popularity it doesn’t mean the CD is no longer viable.  Not too long ago NAD Electronics announced a new CD player that is reasonably priced and it enables homeowners with vast CD collections to playback their music collections without sacrificing quality.

The company’s C 516BEE incorporates the latest generation Cirrus Logic 24/192 digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and an analog circuit section that NAD says delivers lower levels of distortion than its previous generation model. NAD points out the CD player also includes audio specific OP amps that ensure improved musical accuracy while also reducing its standby power consumption to less than a half of watt.

“While NAD is focused on the development of a broad range of wireless and streaming audio products, we also know music lovers still have collections of hundreds or even thousands of CDs. So there is still a need for a high performance CD player,” states Greg Stidsen, director of technology and product planning, NAD Electronics. “For those audiophiles where cost is a consideration, the C 516BEE will not disappoint. True to NAD’s design philosophy, we’ve focused our investment in areas that will provide the most sonic benefit and avoided the frills that only add cost and complexity.”

In addition to the internal technologies built into the CD player, NAD also includes the ability to play CDs and CD-RWs encoded with MP3 and WMA files, and convenient user features such as repeat functions for single songs or entire discs. The C 516BEE also incorporates a front LED display panel that communicates information such as track number and time, and a rear panel that includes analog, and coax and optical digital outputs.
