Mount a 55-inch TV on Dry Wall with Moen’s SecureMount Anchors
From its success with towel racks, Moen is now offering a mounting solution for 150-pound flat screens, no studs required.
Moen helps millions of contractors and DIYers mount towel racks in their bathrooms. Why not make the leap to big-screen mounting solutions?
At CEDIA Expo 2008, the manufacturer of faucets, shower heads, bathroom accessories and sinks, will introduce SecureMount Flat-Screen Television Anchors for mounting TVs anywhere on the wall – no studs required.
The company says that these anchors can be used with any flat-screen TVs weighing up to150 pounds, including most televisions up to 55 inches diagonal.
“The SecureMount Anchor system features an innovative design that makes it possible to quickly, easily and securely install a flat-screen television anywhere on the wall, with one stud, or no studs,” says Jeff Kessler, Moen vice president of sales and marketing. “Its unique design reduces the most common concern of conventional installation – finding a stud in the proper location.”
Sure beats the Hercules Hook.
Apparently, Moen is "utilizing principals of physics" to enable the D-shaped anchors to provide "optimal bracing behind the wall."
SecureMount Anchors are recommended for use in ½-inch drywall. To ensure the anchor installation is secure, independent testing was conducted by CSA and NAHB laboratories, according to Moen
The company claims that its products are 67 percent stronger versus other flat-screen TV anchor installation systems.
The SecureMount for TVs works similar to Moen's SecureMount for towel racks: Drill a hole, insert "guide sleeve", insert anchor into sleeve, pull tab until anchor is tight, remove tab, and screw in the mount.

Based on the pictures, these fasteners have a larger and flatter surface than togglers. They should distribute the load better. I’d invest the time and effort to find a stud myself.
Hope it ‘holds’ up better than the Moen Faucet in my Kitchen!
Based on the picture, it easy to attach to wall
because only 1 screw to use. However it can mount over the150 pound. Its amazing though.. I like this mount.
