Microsoft Xbox 360 to Offer Netflix Movies
Microsoft also announces a $50 price cut on the 20GB Xbox 360 and plans to release a 60GB model in August.
Microsoft and Netflix reached a partnership at the E3 Summit at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The agreement enables Xbox 360 users access to more than 10,000 movies and TV episodes available on the ever-growing Netflix library.
This feature, expected to be released as a software update, will be available this fall at no extra cost to Xbox LIVE Gold members who also subscribe to Netflix.
To add movies to the Xbox, members add movies and TV episodes from the Netflix Web site into the queues. Users will have full control of the movie with the Xbox 360 controller.
"For Netflix, it represents an important step forward in making instantly streaming movies on the TV more broadly available to our members," says Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.
