Meridian Opens Concept Store in Thailand
British- and Asian-themed showroom a step in Meridian’s “international expansion.”
Meridian will open its first “Meridian Concept” store in Bangkok, Thailand on Nov. 12.
Meridian, which launches the store in conjunction with distributor MRD Audio Co., is banking on a strong market for high-performance audio/video in Asia.
The concept store is located in a shopping complex, Siam Paragon, in the Pathumwan district of Bangkok. Meridian says the store will become the flagship demo location for its products in Asia.
Bangkok is “the beating heart of South East Asia,” according to Graeme Taylor, Meridian’s director of global marketing. “We are very confident in this bold new step as the Asian market for luxury electronics is growing rapidly.”
Meridian says the concept store is a step in the company's "international expansion." Meridian products are available in more than 50 countries, including the U.K., U.S., Russia, India, China and Japan.
The design and layout of Meridian’s first concept store includes several themed zones, including:
"[The showroom] aims to fuse traditional luxury with cutting-edge design in a uniquely British way,” Taylor says. “We have selected natural materials such as hard woods, leather and fabrics in combination with accents of technology like fine metals and architectural glass and lighting.
"Reflected throughout the store is Britain’s reputation for prestige and technical luxury, which Asian consumers have long had a respect for and which have always been key pillars of the Meridian brand.”
