LG’s LH55 LCD HDTVs Now Available
ISFccc-certified displays feature TruMotion 240Hz response time, Energy Star 3.0.
LG's LH55 LCD HDTVs, first announced at CES in January, are now available for purchase, according to the company.
The 1080p, ISFccc-certified series, which is available in 37-, 42-, 47- and 55-inch sizes, all feature TruMotion 240Hz response time.
The response time is enabled by a Super In-Plane Switching (S-IPS) panel, according to the company, which "maintains better color and contrast at off-axis viewing angles."
The Energy Star 3.0 rates displays feature an Intelligent Sensor, which adjusts the color and brightness by detecting the ambient light in the room.
"As the first of our flagship LCDs to be introduced this year, the LH55 offers consumers something better -- unsurpassed motion detail for watching sports or movies and playing video games," says Peter Reiner, senior vice president, marketing and strategy, LG Electronics USA.
"With TruMotion 240Hz, the LH55 processes fast-moving pictures at lightning speed for a beautiful viewing experience that requires less picture processing and earns the new Energy Star 3.0 rating."
LG has the second largest share of the flat panel market, according to DisplaySearch, with 11.5 percent (behind Samsung at 22.1 percent). But despite global TV revenues falling, sales of large-size LCDs passed plasmas for the first time ever in Q1 2009.
The company recently unveiled a 0.23-inch thick LCD, which it calls the world's thinnest.
