Lenovo K91 is World’s First Android Ice Cream Sandwich TV
The 55-inch 3D LED K91 features Qualcomm's 8060 Snapdragon dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, 2GB SD card and a built-in 5-megapixel camera for video chats, voice control, facial recognition and more.
Lenovo, better known for its ThinkPad series of laptops, is entering the TV business with a bang at CES 2012, announcing the first TV to run Android 4.0, better known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
The Lenovo K91 Smart TV will initially be available only in China, but Lenovo says it's looking to launch it in other countries later in 2012.
The 55-inch 3D LED K91 features Qualcomm's 8060 Snapdragon dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a 2GB SD card. There's a built-in 5-megapixel camera for video chats, voice control, facial recognition and more. Lenovo is also producing a 42-inch model.
The Ice Cream Sandwich UI will pull together traditional TV shows, video-on-demand (VoD) and Internet apps. More than 100 apps come preloaded on the K91, and users can tap into the Android Market, a Lenovo store and Lenovo cloud service.
For the gamers out there, the K91 comes with a 3-axis gyro gamepad. The regular remote will have a touchpad as well as an integrated microphone.
