Key Digital Engineers HDMI Cables for Commercial Installations

Key Digital's Champion Series Hi-Fi Commercial Pro HDMI cables support the 3D and 4K video formats, as well as the HDMI Ethernet Channel format for 100Mbps connections between HDMI devices and the Audio Return Channel option.

The New York-based manufacturer Key Digital has announced its Champion Series Hi-Fi Commercial Pro HDMI cables that can be used in commercial A/V systems or in residential systems.

The HDMI format has been one of the most important technological advances in the history of consumer electronics. The strength of the format has been so great that the commercial A/V market now utilizes it as much as residential installers.

Key Digital, a Mount Vernon, N.Y.-based manufacturer of audio/video switching components, signal transmission solutions, and automation and control products recently added to its portfolio of products through the introduction of its Champion Series Hi-Fi Commercial Pro HDMI cables.

Key Digital says the cables are designed to withstand the rigors of commercial installations, and through the choice of its KD-HIFI30PRO, KD-HIFI40PRO, KD-HIFI50PRO, KD-HIFI60PRO and KD-HIFI75PRO cable products, installers have a number of options to choose from to address an array of jobs.

“At Key Digital we design not just products, but entire system solutions. This means that our Champion Series HDMI cables are designed to handle almost any system design where quality high definition video connectivity is a factor,” says Michael Lakhter, vice president of sales. “Our pride in the performance, flexibility and user friendly nature of all our products.”

The cables are engineered to handle standard definition and high definition video, including resolutions up to 4K, as well as the 3D video format and commercial formats that include VGA, SVGA, XGA, WXGA, SXGA and UGA. Key also points out the cables support 120Hz, 240Hz, 480Hz and 600Hz refresh rates, and the surround sound Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio lossless audio formats.

In addition, Key Digital notes, the cables can be used with the CEC, ARC, IR and RS-232 protocols to provide installers with the ability to offer streamlined cabling infrastructure solutions.

I am just curious why 600 Hz is listed as a supported “refresh rate” along with the standard list of refresh rates. Is there even such a thing? These types of statements make me dubious of the products themselves.
