Irwin Seating Drops Marketing; Oasis Steps In as Distributor, Manufacturer
Oasis Home Theatre Seating takes over manufacturing of two product designs previously made by Irwin Seating, and exclusively distributes other home theater seating lines following Irwin's cessation of marketing.
In an attempt to clarify a bit of a complicated relationship, Oasis Home Theatre Seating in Ontario, Canada, has issued an announcement about its sales and marketing partnership with Irwin Seating. In a nutshell, Oasis is not only the exclusive re-seller of several product lines made by Irwin Seating Co., but is also now manufacturing two popular home theater seating designs previously made by Irwin.
Oasis, which launched in 2006 by former Irwin Seating Company home theater executive Rose Pefhany, stepped into the void created when Irwin decided to cease marketing its home theater seating several years ago. As a result, Oasis now markets its own brand of entertainment furniture and is the sole distributor of Irwin’s home theater chairs.
Oasis is the exclusive re-seller of Irwin’s TheatreRockers line with brand names of Quinta, Ambassador and Performance VIP. The company is also re-selling Irwin's Springfield, Davies, Marquee, Sports and Outdoor models.
Meanwhile, on its own the company manufactures loungers under the Performance VIP and Ambassador brand names. These are models that Irwin discontinued manufacturing. Pefhany had a hand in designing both of these loungers while she was at Irwin. Pefhany says she uses a combination of budget, space, room use, traffic flow and seating style preference to arrive at several different seating layouts for each customer.
“Most times we can get more chairs into the room than often realized, by combining product styles; using loungers in the front, and matching club chairs or theatre-rockers in behind. This is where the marriage between the Oasis and Irwin products proves to be a tremendous benefit,” says Pefhany. ”It is also important to know and understand architectural and design guidelines to ensure platforms are built to adequate size and strength to allow for safety and proper sightlines,” furthers Pefhany.
To help market these product lines, Oasis has recently launched a new websitehttp://www.oasishtseating.com"> http://www.oasishtseating.com. Meanwhile, the website for Irwin's home theater line re-directs to the new Oasis site. http://www.irwinhometheatre.com to the site.
Lastly, Oasis has also appointed Helena Coito as sales coordinator, where she will assist with the day-to-day operations at the company’s Ontario, Canada headquarters.
