HP Introduces Omen X Gaming PCs
HP's new Omen X features a 6th-generation Intel Core i5/i7 processor with overclocking capabilities and VR-ready GPU to support virtual reality and immersive 4K gaming.

Highlighted by the new Omen X desktop, Omen X 17.3-inch notebook, Omen X Curved Display and Omen with SteelSeries accessories, the popular computer manufacturer's latest products are designed to address high-performance gaming applications.
"The Omen X Desktop was built for serious gamers who need fierce performance out-of-the-box in a fully customizable chassis [which is] something not typically available from traditional PC manufacturers," says Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, consumer personal systems, HP, Inc. "HP's engineers combined a unique design that maximizes thermal management with support for industry standard components so that the true enthusiast can always be up to date with the latest hardware to maintain peak performance with a customized rig."
HP says the Omen X series extend its unified gaming portfolio, which was announced in May 2017 and designed to maximize gaming value. The Omen X series were developed to provide gamers with a choice of overbuilt, over engineered PCs to meet a variety of gaming scenarios.
HP Omen X Desktop PC
Featuring a host of amenities, HP's Omen X Desktop incorporates dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and up to dual AMDRadeon R9 Fury X graphic technologies.
The Omen X Desktop is powered by 6th-generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors with overclocking technologies that are paired with a VR-ready GPU to support virtual reality (VR) and immersive 4K Ultra HD gaming experiences.
Thermal management was also a high priority for the California company. The Omen X Desktop's thermal management includes a tri-chamber design that separates components, and provisions for three 120mm liquid-cooling radiators with top-mounted exhaust vents and stand that lifts the case off the ground to help the cooling system pull in air.
Other features include Omen Control software that allows for custom LED light adjustments and brightness adjustments in real time.
Builders can also build the Omen X chassis from the ground up with features such as the tri-chamber cooling design.
HP Omen 17.3-Inch Notebook
The Omen 17.3-inch Notebook is engineered to be one of the highest performing gaming laptop PCs on the market. Utilizing NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics, and providing gamers with a user friendly 1.29-inch (32.9mm) PC that weighs less than seven pounds.
HP points out the Omen 17.3-inch Notebook also features Bang & Olufsen and HP Audio Boost for realistic sound quality, DisplayPort to support 2K and 4K output/streaming, a 4K resolution screen with 300 nits of brightness, VR support, and a 95-watt battery that offers nearly eight hours of running time.
Omen X Curved Display
Emphasizing the importance of a display in a high-performance computing system, HP says the Omen X Curved Display is the first product it has designed to include NVIDIA G-Sync technology.
Summing up the Curved X Display, HP says the product integrates the latest video technologies to give users seeking wide viewing angles a smooth gaming experience.
Omen by HP with SteelSeries
HP's Omen with SteelSeries line of gaming accessories offers users a choice of products that efficiently maximize their gaming action.
HP with SteelSeries includes:
- Omen Headset with SteelSeries: This pair of headphones utilizes a lightweight suspension construction to enable users to wear the headset for hours.
- Omen Keyboard with SteelSeries: HP's new keyboard provides users with the ability to customize their gaming with more than 16.8 million colors that change with action on the screen.
- Omen Mouse with SteelSeries: The Omen Mouse is customizable with RGB illumination, six programmable buttons and 1:1 tracking movement.
- Omen Mouse Pad with SteelSeries: The Omen Mouse Pad features a non-slip rubber base and a durable smooth surface.
