NetStreams’ DigiLinX IP-Based Multi-Room Video solution is the first video distribution system to distribute uncompressed, high definition video/multi-channel audio to multiple displays throughout a home over a TCP/IP network, marking an industry first for high quality video distribution over an IP network. Consisting of three products—a video encoder, a video decoder and a gigabit switch - the DigiLinX Multi-Room Video soalution now adds IP video distribution to the company’s DigiLinX existing line of IP Multi-Room Audio distribution and control products. NetStreams new IP video solution is compatible with legacy video sources that output Composite, S-Video, Component (including the newer Blu-ray and HD-DVD players), and VGA, and will also be compatible with native sources such as IPTV and video servers.
“NetStreams was the first to embrace TCP/IP as a fundamental change in the way audio and video content is distributed and controlled in a multi-room system,” said Kevin Reinis, President and CEO of NetStreams. “We are honored that Electronic House has recognized this leadership by selecting DigiLinX IP Video for its’ technological innovation, overall value, and outstanding feature set.”
With NetStreams’ solution, consumers now have the ability to watch their video sources in the best quality available in the market today, in any or all rooms of their home. Additionally, consumers that have a DVR can start watching a program in one room, and finish watching in another. Since the system is decentralized, it is easy for authorized installers to add sources or displays to the network, making the system the most modular and expandable solution on the market.
NetStreams’ DigiLinX product line distributes audio/video and control signals over an Ethernet network, using TCP/IP to multiple rooms. As the first and only completely IP-Based solution in the marketplace, it permits seamless communication with other home systems such as lighting control, home automation systems, security systems, etc., and can be controlled using any device equipped with a Web browser. Additional interfaces that are popular within the NetStreams customer base are in-wall IP-based touch screen keypads, PDAs, Web tablets, and PCs.
