First Glimpse of Lifeware Automation Software for Vista MCE
Media Center Boot Camp to reveal more details about Lifeware 2.0.
The launch of Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system couldn't come at a better time -- EHX time. The Electronic House Expo is the first event where home systems integrators can try out the platform for themselves, and examine some of the newest custom products optimized for Vista.
One of the most visible Vista developers at the show is Exceptional Innovation, which provided the first public demonstration of version 2.0 Lifeware automation system for Vista-enabled Media Center Edition (MCE) PCs.
As with Vista itself, the Lifeware software is optimized for viewing on a 16:9 TV, using Vista's at-a-glance Gallery view. Mike Seamons of EI says, "The icons mimic the look and feel of Vista's. It presents the consumer with a seamless experience, navigating through their lights, thermostats and other electronics, and enjoying movies, music and other native Media Center applications."
Beyond that, Seamons wouldn't say what new and exciting goodies we could expect from the Vista version of Lifeware.
More details about Lifeware version 2.0 will be divulged during the Media Center Boot Camp, which Seamons co-chairs.
EHX is Nov. 15-17 in Long Beach, Calif. The Media Center Boot Camp is Nov. 14.
