[EHX] AIX Records and Intel Dispel Digital Audio Myths
Cutting edge technologies are combined with proven recording techniques and played back with some of the consumer-electronics.
This may be overstating it a bit, but I'll say it anyway: The upcoming EHX and its Demo Alley competition is the custom-installation industry's equivalent of the NFL's "big game" and the NCAA's Bowl Championship Series (BCS).
Hyperbole aside, Demo Alley is a great chance for installers to see some of the best A/V brands the industry at the top of their game.
This spring's show is set to deliver 11 of these Demo Alley rooms that will be occupied by the likes of Runco, Vidikron, Stewart Filmscreen, Cary Audio, Niveus, Halcro, James Loudspeaker, RBH Sound,Thiel Audio, Richard Gray's Power Company, McIntosh, Straight Wire and JVC Professional, just to name a few.
Over the next couple of weeks the CE Pro editorial staff will preview each of the Demo Alley rooms starting with today's headlining performers, Intel and AIX Records.
The Intel/AIX room should be an interesting presentation for several reasons. First, many traditional audiophiles may snub their collective out-of-joint noses at the thought of high-performance digital audio, but Intel and AIX aren't probably out to win over those dinosaurs anyway.
They are at the show to prove that well-recorded high-resolution audio/video content can be a powerful sales tool in the right environment and in the hands of an enthusiastic installer who is willing to utilize state-of-the-art products and technologies.
A quick look at the room's equipment list reveals that Intel and AIX aren't fooling around:

In a move that could be classified as anti-Bill Belichick (Patriots head coach who is notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to player availability), AIX Records' founder and chief engineer Mark Waldrep, was more than happy to drop a hint of what his demo list of material will include the show:
In addition to the demo content, Waldrep will also be showing the label's iTrax service, which will allow dealers and end users to download high-quality content.

EHX attendees that drop by the Intel/AIX room at EHX can look forward to hearing demo content from virtuoso country-music guitar player Albert Lee.
