The slowing economy, the housing slowdown and declining product margins are the hot topics of concern among members of the CE Pro 100.
Even if the slowing housing market has not yet affected an integration company, it is definitely on the minds of the owners.
Many report they are diversifying their operations.
In fact, most make specific mention of several operational efficiency practices, including staying lean and mean, producing accurate proposals and looking at new high-margin products.
Other areas of concern include growing business in the current marketplace while maintaining customer satisfaction and hiring the correct design and engineering staff.
Also, working in other locations with clients who have two or three homes is becoming increasingly difficult. The logistics and planning involved in working out of state or out of the country are very difficult.
