The term Internet of Things (IoT) is thrown around quite often these days, but there are some manufacturers that are more immersed in and have more experience with IoT technologies than others. One of those companies in the middle of the IoT market with lots of developmental experience is D-Link.
Adding to its mydlink Connected Home Series, the Fountain Valley, Calif.-based company has introduced its HD 180-Degree Wi-Fi Camera (DCS-8200LH) to bolster its growing line of Internet-based home solutions.
D-Link says its latest Wi-Fi camera provides users with a product that delivers a 180-degrees of sight, 720p HD video, and a micro-SD card slot for local recording.
“The IoT Connected Home has really advanced in the last few years, and now with the HD 180-Degree Wi-Fi Camera, homeowners can have a secure connected home,” says Carina Tsai, product line manager, D-Link. “The DCS-8200LH with IFTTT [If This Then That] support, users can integrate a number of other apps and devices for a truly automated home.”
Through the IFTTT technologies users can integrate a number of other apps and devices to take control of their home's automation capabilities. D-Link goes on to explain that dealers or homeowners can create conditional commands and link multiple IFTTT products and apps to customize their home automation experience.
The company adds the DCS-8200LH can also be set up to react with other devices to perform tasks such as begin recordings once a homeowner leaves the home, take snapshots once the doorbell rings and playback video remotely using smart devices.
In addition, dealers can set up the HD 180-degree Wi-Fi Camera to work with products like its Wi-Fi Water Sensor when that product detects a leak to create diverse automation systems.
Some of the camera's other features include De-Warping technology that maximizes video quality, 802.11ac wireless connectivity, sound and motion detection, and night vision that enables up to 16 feet of visibility through the use of its built-in IR LEDs.
