Taking the name custom literally, the Aurora, Ill.-based company Peerless-AV recently launched a new product line that helps custom installers live up to the word custom.

Not too long ago the company announced a new family of built-to-order racks that can be setup and specified through Peerless-AV’s online configurator tool. The line of customizable equipment racks offer professional electronics installers a choice of 18 to 44 RUs; a choice of closed, open or extra-large open side panels, as well as a choice of colors, silk-screened logos and other options. “With our custom rack configurator, you can place AV equipment and accessories exactly where you want them, see what the fully assembled frame rack will look like, and modify it if necessary before placing your order,” says Rob Meiner, product manager, Peerless-AV. “This ensures proper ergonomics by placing user interface components within easy reach, as well as ensuring that everything fits properly and has a good visual flow. These features, the color options and the full range of available models make it possible to meet any AV need whether in education, government, data centers, homes or any other setting.”

The online configurator tools enables users to specify the location of each component; view a CAD drawing with all accessories installed, and they can examine a rotating 3D model of the rack before submitting it to Peerless-AV for a same-day quote. Peerless adds that all of the racks, except for for the knockdown models ship fully assembled within two weeks of an order placement, and that Peerless makes the racks in the U.S. to support its rapid shipment policies.
