Control4 Debuts DIN Rail Solution for European Market at ISE 2010
DIN rails make sense for Control4 products that are too thick to fit behind European walls; users can bring their own European-style dimmers
Control4 is making its home automation products more attractive to European dealers.
The company is showcasing at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) a new DIN rail solution for its lighting controls and accessories.
The new DIN configuration – popular in Europe – makes sense especially when typical wall-box dimmers (like Control4’s) won’t fit into shallower spaces.
An added bonus? “This gives you the ability to use other keypads like BTicino,” says Control4’s Paul Williams.
BTicino, owned by Vantage and OnQ parent Legrand, offers a wide range of elegant light switchers and dimmers suitable to the European aesthetic.
For Europeans without the wall space – who still desire an American-style Control4 system – Control4 has created an in-line dimmer that can be installed at the switch and/or fixture locations.

Why is KNX not popular in residential wiring State side?
(I’m only familiar with two companies on the west coast that installed KNX.)
Thanks
