vNet’s 7-inch touchscreen has been redesign and now delivers 50 watts per channel.

Fresh after its acquisition by Russound, Colorado vNet is making its first appearance at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), which begins tomorrow in Amsterdam.

Previously, vNet did not have the proper certifications to offers its multiroom A/V and automation systems in Europe. Now it does.

At ISE, the company is adding a few goodies to its touchscreen line. Most importantly, there is now a 4.7-inch touchscreen, in addition to the 7-inch model that vNet has had all along.

“This fills a big hole for us,” says Russound’s Petro Shimonishi, who has played a key role in the vNet/Russound transition. “Not every house wants a 7-inch touchscreen in every room.”

At the same time, vNet has changed the form factor of its touchscreens but won’t drop the “floating glass” design. The new touchscreens have interchangeable faceplates to match a home’s décor.

The 7-inch amplified screen now boasts 50 watts per channel, up from the original 35 watts delivers 35 watts per channel, as usual. The new 4.7-inch screen provides 35 25 watts per channel.

On the automation front, Colorado vNet has not been known for its large list of integration partners, but that’s going to change, according to Shimonishi.

“We’re going to up our API and work with more partners,” she says.

Meanwhile, vNet offers an application note that explains how dealers can operate Russound’s CAV multiroom A/V systems through a Colorado vNet system.
