Colorado vNet Downsizes CEDIA Expo 2009 Booth, Supersizes Training
Forgoes large booth in favor of 60-city product and training show.
The Vibe Video System will be in a down-sized booth during CEDIA Expo 2009. It will also be among many Colorado vNet products on a 60-city dealer tour.
08.26.2009 — Colorado vNet, instead of having a mega-booth at CEDIA Expo 2009, has opted for a smaller presence on the showfloor. It's using the event to kick off its 60-city “Ultimate Control Tour”.
“We have to spend our marketing dollars wisely — just as any business in this economy," says Scott Stephenson, Colorado vNet director of marketing. "We questioned if it was more important to spend gobs of money to ship our 40 x 50 booth to CEDIA — or provide the support necessary for our dealers to close more business.
"We could have pulled out of the show altogether like many other companies, but we chose to both support the CEDIA organization and our dealers, whether they attend CEDIA or not.”
Colorado vNet still has a 30 x 30-foot exhibit space, booth No. 2637.
The road show will journey across the United States, Canada, and Mexico over the course of 90 days, unveiling new products, control capabilities and features of Colorado vNet home control and digital audio/video systems.
The tour will feature afternoon sessions specific to custom integrators with new product demonstrations including: a new family of touchscreens, remote control tablets, and A/V control, along with technical and sales training.
Colorado vNet will host demos and drinks in the evening for homeowners, builders, architects and designers. The company will be pushing out invitations to drive consumers and other trades. Plus, integrators are encouraged to bring their trade partners. Admission is free, but registration is required.
All integrator attendees of the tour will be entered to win the “Ultimate Red Rocks Concert Package” where the winner and a guest will attend a 2010 concert of their choice at the legendary outdoor venue in Colorado. Airfare, hotel, limo and more will be provided. The drawing will be held at the close of the tour in December.

“Not everyone can spend the money and time to travel to CEDIA. With the Ultimate Control Tour, we’re bringing the CEDIA experience to our dealers,” says Mike Malone, vice president of sales for Colorado vNet. “It’s just the kind of support our dealers have requested — they want to know everything about our product offering so they can better communicate its benefits to their clients, inevitably selling more systems.”
