Cat Fowler Toomey Joins URC as Marketing Director
Former Elan, Escient and AMX exec returns to custom channel as URC marketing director; predecessor Jon Sienkiewicz assumes new position of corporate communications director.
Cat Toomey (formerly Cat Fowler), one of the most experienced marketing execs in the custom channel, has joined URC as director of marketing.
Before joining URC, Fowler was VP marketing, inside sales and customer service for Elan Home Systems for seven years. And before that, she held similar positions at AMX and Escient. Most recently, she was VP of marketing for ChaCha, the technology firm that provides on-demand answers to random questions from 32 million users per month.
While she enjoyed her successful stint at ChaCha, and developed strong skills in the latest forms of digital marketing media, “I really missed this channel,” Toomey tells CE Pro. “This is where I belong.”
She adds, “I can’t wait to reconnect with the dealers I used to work with, and with the trade associations and the technologies … all the things I have enjoyed about the CE industry.”
Fowler tells CE Pro that she has been following URC for many years, and when the company launched its Total Control integrated solution, she started dreaming up big plans for the initiative.
“I’ve pretty much always been in the home-control business and it’s what I love,” she says.
As URC marketing director, Toomey is responsible for marketing strategy including all URC branding, advertising and promotional activity.
Meanwhile, her predecessor Jon Sienkiewicz has moved into the new position of URC director of corporate communications, responsible for URC corporate marketing, technical support and reverse logistics.
Toomey will remain in Indianapolis and commute to URC’s Harrison, N.Y. offices. She also will be flitting around the country meeting with dealers and attending trade events.
