The new Canton Karat 795 DC, 790 DC, 770 DC, 755 DC, 730 DC and 720 feature upgraded drivers and crossovers and Wave Surround technology.
The line includes three floor-standing speakers (795 DC, 790 DC, and 770 DC) with subwoofers, a three-way pedestal speakers (730 DC) with a side woofer, a two-way pedestal speaker (720) and two-way center channel speaker (755 DC).
The three Karat floor-standing models have a 3-1/2-way crossover network, where both midrange drivers operate below 400 Hz.
The company says it refined the integration between the 1-inch tweeters and midrange drivers.
“The Karat is a modern blending of performance and style,” says Canton USA president Paul Madsen. “Designed with the same attention to performance as our other high-end lines, these are the perfect speakers for bold, modern decors.
“The narrow front baffle and deep side panels allow for the use of a large woofer for deep bass performance while maintaining precise imaging in the upper registers to minimize diffraction effects.
“In keeping with Canton’s evolutionary approach to design, where each generation builds on the last, this new lineup incorporates a number of subtle refinements for improved performance, but still maintains the essential sonic and aesthetic character that has made the Karat series one of our most popular lines.”
The Karat Series still features the 12-inch AS750 SC subwoofer.
The new speakers are replacing the Karat 711 DC, 709 DC, 707 DC, 705 DC, 703 DC and 702.
All models are currently available in graphite or silver lacquer finish, and select models in high-gloss white or black lacquer at a 15 percent surcharge. All models have black grilles.
Prices range from $2,400 per speaker for the Karat 795 DC, to $600 per speaker for the Karat 720.
