Bell Alliant will offer a home automation and security system using the same iControl platform employed by Comcast/Xfinity, Time Warner Cable, Cox and Rogers.

Bell Aliant’s iControl-based security and home automation system will be installed by professionals.

iControl has snagged another service provider, Canada’s Bell Aliant, to deploy its home automation and security platform.

Bell Aliant, which calls itself the one of North America’s largest regional communications providers, is calling its new service NextGen Home Security.

It will look pretty much like similar services from iControl customers Comcast/Xfinity, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications and Rogers Communications (but not ADT Pulse, which utilizes a different iControl platform).

Like the others, Bell Aliant will offer professionally monitored security, surveillance, energy management, lighting control and other home automation features that can be remotely monitored and controlled.

Bell Aliant NextGen Home Security will be available in the spring. Consumers can pre-register at http://www.bellaliant.net/homesecurity.

Bell Aliant (TSX: BA) says it is the first company in Canada to cover an entire city with fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology with its FibreOP services. Through its operating entities, it serves customers in six Canadian provinces with information, communication and technology services including voice, data, Internet, video and value-added business solutions.
