Autonomic Media Server to Support Amazon Cloud Drive
Autonomic's cloud music servers sync all music into one global locker; company seeks beta testers among Mirage Media Server MMS-5 dealers.
Autonomic adds Amazon Cloud Drive support Mirage Media Servers
Autonomic Controls, Inc. says that support for Amazon's new Cloud Drive service will be available in all models of Autonomic Mirage Media Servers (MMS-2 and MMS-5) with a free firmware update during the second quarter.
The company claims that its Mirage Media Server was the first to store digital content collections in a secure, online locker, providing global access and automatic synchronization between locations.
The Amazon Cloud Drive integration bolsters Autonomic's growing list of supported online services which currently includes Pandora Internet radio, TuneIn Radio (RadioTime) and SiriusXM Internet radio.
"Autonomic delivers the experience of an aggregated music collection so that you no longer think of it as a collection of iTunes libraries and internet accounts, but simply as your music," says Michael Toscano, founder and CTO.
Music purchased from Amazon.com will instantly be available on all Mirage Media Servers via the user's Amazon Cloud Drive.
According to Amazon, customers will start with 5 GB of Cloud Drive storage to upload their digital music library, and those who purchase an Amazon MP3 album will be upgraded to 20 GB of Cloud Drive space. New Amazon MP3 purchases saved directly to Cloud Drive are stored for free.
"Integrating the Amazon Cloud into the Autonomic MMS provides customers with an unprecedented system to store, sync, access and stream their digital music collections, including both existing and future purchases," says Toscano. "The Autonomic MMS will automatically upload new content to the Amazon Cloud and then synchronize all of your digital music to your MMS servers around the globe. Autonomic dealers will be able to offer their customers functionality and a user experience simply not available natively in these numerous disparate devices and music services."
Toscano says says Autonomic has been focused on Amazon's S3 cloud storage network for "some time."
Integration support is currently being tested internally, with release expected in 60 days. Qualified Autonomic dealers with demo MMS-5 systems in-house can request to be included in beta testing by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
