AMX Enova DGX Digital Media Switchers Hit the Market
The company anticipates large demand for the future-proof HDMI/HDCP solution.
AMX product manager Paul Hand demonstrates the DGX and its SmartScale technology.
Integrators got their first glimpse of AMX’s Enova DGX 16 and Enova DGX 32 Digital Media Switchers during InfoComm 2011 in June.
Then residential integrators saw it at CEDIA Expo 2011 in September.
Now they can see it in the systems they deploy, because AMX announces the U.S. availability of the two products.
AMX considers its DGX line to be game-changing integration solutions. From the press release:
The initial Enova DGX shipment includes the DGX 16 and 32 Switcher enclosures, the DGX Input and Output Boards for HDMI and DVI, plus the Audio Insert/Extract Expansion Boards. AMX says more enhancements, like DXLink input and output boards and fiber boards, will be deployed in the coming months.
The Enova DVX-3150HD All-In-One Presentation Switcher, which has the same technology as the DGX, was first deployed at Wake Forest University in December when CEO Rashid Skaf personally delivered it.
According to AMX, Wake Forest’s IT/AV director subsequently sent Skaf a letter of thanks, noting that the scaling, HDCP and other installation issues have been non-existent.
The shipping of the Enova DGX 16 and Enova DGX 32 Digital Media Switchers comes amid “unprecedented demand,” according to AMX.
