Advanced Communication Technologies Acquires AViX
Cape Cod-based AViX will close showrooms and offices, staff becomes part of Savant.
Advanced Communication Technologies, based in Rockland, Mass., has acquired Osterville, Mass.-based AViX, according to the Boston Globe.
AViX, whose CEO James Carroll is also the president of Savant Systems, will close its recently renovated showroom and offices, while ACT takes over the integrator's customer base, sales staff and projects.
Craig Spinner, vice president of marketing at Savant, tells CE Pro that the AViX installation and design staff is now part of a new Savant professional services division that will assist dealers across the country with the design, programming and installation of Savant's Rosie and its peripherals.
"This acquisition will help ACT to expand its business across southeastern Mass. and establish itself as the leading integrator for the Cape and Islands," Paul Diggin, ACT's managing director, told the Globe.
"We were friendly competitors, and it is gratifying for both companies to know that AViX's clients will not experience any disruption or loss of service. We look forward to working with AViX's clients and sales team and are excited to have them share in ACT's continued growth and success."
