ADT SafeWatch SafePass Eliminates Need for Security Passwords
SafeWatch can be waved at ADT security system to alarm or disarm it.
Users can wave SafeWatch SafePass at their ADT home security system to alarm or disarm the system.
The average American is plagued with a plethora of passwords — about 15 per household, says ADT.
The company says its new SafeWatch SafePass is helping make life easier by eliminating the need to remember passwords each time users interact with their home alarm system.
SafeWatch, which will be displayed at CEDIA Expo 2008 (booth 934), helps minimize false alarms. This keytag, when waved at the touch pad on an ADT alarm system, activates or disarms the system.
ADT says its the only security company in the United States to offer this technology.
"We think SafePass is ideal for ADT customers who have their hands full when they come home and need to easily activate their security system," says Jason Nordin, VP of marketing for ADT North America.
Another benefit of having SafePass, the company adds, is the keytags can be programmed to work only at specific times, allowing homeowners to restrict access.
For instance, a babysitter or housecleaner can be given their own keytag, providing them access only during a specific window of time.
