6 Great 3D Demos
We roundup the best content to use when demoing 3D systems.
Once a 3D system is setup and ready to demo, installers have one more variable to deal with: choosing the right content.
To help dealers wade through the mediocrity of 3D content, Runco has developed a content list for installers to use.
“We love the 3D content that’s come on to the market during the last few years," says Jennifer Davis, VP of marketing for Runco. "Runco provides a demo guide to our authorized dealers with specific recommendations that includes starting and stopping points for each clip and what to point out to clients."
We also tapped Gary Klasmeier, product engineering manager, D-ILA Systems, JVC Professional Products Company, for some recommendations JVC has for installers.
“Movie titles for demonstration must be fine-tuned for the customer," Klasmeier says. "It is important to understand the customer’s interests and demonstrate content that they would be watching in their theater. NBC/Universal has supplied a clip of Despicable Me for several of our shows, which, in my opinion, is a clever story that makes one laugh and causes them to instantly get into the movie.
"This is a computer-generated movie that has great detail and color with moderate to extreme 3D. I would also recommend that some non-computer generated content be shown. 3D titles are more readily available now, so the task of focusing on a customer’s interest is getting a little easier. I would highly recommend that whatever material is chosen, the demonstration should be rehearsed to enable a flawless presentation to the customer."
