Many of the “traditional” home automation companies catering to the custom channel will be absent at CES 2014, but you’ll find a good chunk of smart-home goodies at the Z-Wave Pavilion and just next door at the Leviton booth (formerly Home Automation Inc.).
Here are some of the companies exhibiting at the booth and a few new products they’re showing, covering the first half of the alphabet. The rest of the alphabet is coming soon.
In the following slide show, check out the first recessed door sensor with Z-Wave, the Piper video camera with a home automation hub built in from Black Sumac, the Kwikset Kevo door lock (not Z-Wave) of questionable value, a forthcoming Z-Wave smart bulb and more.
